A Prayer in Time Saves Nine

A Prayer in Time Saves Nine

If a stitch in time saves nine, then a prayer in time saves nine. Take little problems to God and they will not become big problems. There is nowhere in Scripture where it says we should only take big things to God. In fact, Proverbs 3:6 says “in all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.” Thus we should acknowledge God in big ways and in little ways. If we acknowledge Him in little ways, He will direct our paths so we don’t get lost. If we don’t acknowledge Him, we may get lost and a little thing becomes a big thing.

Dream at Night And Plan in the Day.

Dream at Night And Plan in the Day.

Once in a while your dreams may come true. But more often, its your plans that come true. Invest your time in planning and not in dreaming. God prescribed this attitude to life when He told Habakkuk “Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, so he may run that reads it.”-Habakkuk 2:2. God never promised to establish your dreams. What He said is “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans”-Proverbs 16:3. If you have no plans, it’s like having no foundation. That’s why The David said “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?”-Psalm 11:3. That you are righteous is not enough. Make a plan and present it to God. God is the one that gives you dreams. He expects you to have the dream and then present Him with a plan. No plan means no dream actualization.

Are We Living in the End Times

Are We Living in the End Times

The selfie stick and social media instantly turns anybody into a news anchor. You can break news and social media will spread it virally for you. Google and YouTube will archive and cross reference the information making it available to everybody with access to the Internet. Never in the history of the world has the spread of information and knowledge been this instantaneous. Compare what is happening today to the prophesy of the end times given by Daniel “O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased”-Daniel 12:4. Are we living in the end times?

Does Your Fire Burn or Illuminates?

Does Your Fire Burn or Illuminates?

James 3:6 says “the tongue is a fire”. What do you use your fire for? Does your fire burn people or does it illuminate dark places? Every time you use your tongue to criticize, gossip, backbite and curse people you are using your fire to burn down. Every time you use your mouth to encourage people, comfort the broken hearted and confront people to their faces about their errors instead of backbiting them, you are using your fire to illuminate darkness. Jesus told us in Matthew 5:14 that we “are the light of the world”. We are not the fire of the world. In that small space of time between the time when you formulate thoughts and speak them into words, try exercising the power of choice to ensure that the words you utter give light instead of burning down. After you die, to a large extent, the way you use your mouth will determine whether you are illuminated by God in Heaven or whether you are consumed by fire in hell. “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”-Proverbs 18:21.

Being Backbitten is a Compliment

Being Backbitten is a Compliment

They have to be behind you to backbite. The Pharisees backbit Jesus. They accused Him behind His back of casting out demons by the power of Beelzebub. But Jesus never responded behind their backs. To their face He told them “You belong to your father, the devil”-John 8:44. Jesus never backbit people. He was so confident of the things He said that He told His disciples “What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight”-Matthew 10:27. So take it as a compliment when people backbite you and NEVER respond in kind. Remember, “The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion”-Proverbs 28:1.

Don’t Follow the Crowd

Don’t Follow the Crowd

Don’t follow the crowd. Go farther than the crowd. Be up to tomorrow, not up to date. Your fulfillment will come when the crowd follows you. That was Jesus’ lifestyle on earth. He was so up to tomorrow that He upset the religious and political establishment of that time by saying “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me”-John 14:16. He had barely 20 followers 2000 years ago and the crowds begged Pilate to release Barrabas and crucify Him. Fast forward to today and He has more followers than any man that ever lived. Jesus was up to tomorrow. He did not follow the crowd and now the crowd is following Him. May this message open our eyes in Jesus’ name.

The Only Visa you Need

The Only Visa you Need

Take a look at your passport. It says quite clearly that it is the property of the government that issued it. However, you are the one using it. In the same manner, your body is God’s property. You may be using it, but you do not own it. If you want to use your passport to go to another country, you will need a visa issued by the government of that country. Likewise, to enter God’s Kingdom, you will need a visa. That visa is Jesus. Without a visa you can not enter an earthly country. Without Jesus you can not enter God’s heavenly Kingdom. So take your passport (your body) and apply to God for His Visa by accepting the salvation He offers through Jesus by faith and be rest assured that when your appointment with death comes, you will be admitted into the heavenly country of God and His Christ.

Play Your Own Role

Play Your Own Role

The only role you are equipped to play in the stage of life is the role of you. Be yourself no matter the pressure to be otherwise. “Jesus commanded Peter, “Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me?”-John 18:11. The most foolish thing you can do is compare yourself to others because God has not equipped you to play the role He has equipped them for. “When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise”-2 Corinthians 10:12. Always be yourself. Never do or refrain from doing things because of what others say about you.

The Unseen is More Real

The Unseen is More Real

I got a real demonstration of what Paul meant in 2 Corinthians 4:18 when he said ‘the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal’ . I got home one day to meet my house in darkness. Turns out I had an electric fault. All my appliances were dead. Then I called in an electrician who fixed the fault and turned the power back on and light flooded my house and every appliance that was dead in my house started working. It was clear to me that though I could see those devices, they were not as real as the electricity that I could not see, for without the invisible electric the visible electronics would not work. Without the Invisible God, this visible reality would not work. All my electronic devices would grow old and be thrown away, but electricity does not grow old. Brethren, don’t let material things that you see deceive you. God is real though you can’t see Him.

Godship is Better than Gossip!

Godship is Better than Gossip!

We would suffer from less gossip and more Godship if only we took our issues to God in prayer instead of to people. “Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken”-Psalm 55:22. Consider the life of Jesus. It was hard for Him to go to the Cross and if it was up to Him, He would have changed His mind. But Jesus did not take His anxiety to men. Not even to confidantes, Peter, James and John. In Matthew 26:36-39 we read “Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.”

Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will”. Notice that Jesus took His issue privately to His Father by “going a little farther”. Today I encourage you to apply wisdom and go “a little farther” and pour out your soul to your Father and He will confidentially help you with that issue.
