Recharge Your Spirit

Recharge Your Spirit

I was at a funeral today and my phone was losing battery power. The entrance and exit to the venue was blocked because of VIP movements which meant I could not charge my phone. The thing is that my physical phone was very much with me but because it had no power it was useless and I lost ability to receive communications. After the event I charged my phone and messages and alerts started coming in. And it hit me! When we don’t charge our spirit man by prayer, it shuts down and we are not able to receive communications from our Spiritual Father, God. Just as the physical phone was with me but was powerless, our physical body can be with us and even be thriving and getting fatter and more muscular, but without spiritual power it is powerless! It is not until you charge your spirit man through prayer which connects you to the God of power that you receive prayer and restore your ability to receive from God! “repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of The Lord”-Acts 3:19.

The Right Response to Terror

The Right Response to Terror

Fear is the result of believing the propaganda of the enemy. The enemy is never as strong as he says he is. However, he needs you to be afraid otherwise he cannot capture you. Let me go deeper. When Sennacherib, the King of Assyria, wanted to capture Israel, he sent messengers to Israel and of them 2 Chronicles 32:18 says “then they called out in Hebrew to the people of Jerusalem who were on the wall, to terrify them and make them afraid in order to capture the city”. Consider that last part “in order to capture the city”. In other words, Sennacherib knew that he couldn’t capture Jerusalem if he didn’t first terrify them. So when next the enemy subliminal places terrifying thoughts about your future in your mind know that he is doing this not because those thoughts are true, but because he wants to capture you. Now which enemy wants to capture something worthless? The mere fact that he wants to capture you should fill you with praise to God that you are so valuable. That attitude will drive out fear and terror from your heart and frustrate the plans of the enemy.

Co Creators With God

Co Creators With God

When Genesis 1:26 reports God as saying “let us make man in our image, after our likeness”, many mistakenly think those two words refer to the same thing. Not so. God made us in His image meaning that we have a physical image that is a reflection of His spiritual image. He also made us in His likeness meaning that we are like God. How? God creates with His words. He speaks of things that be not and they become. He gave man this creative ability such that man speaks and it comes to being. The difference is that God is a spirit thus He operates in simultaneous time such that His words immediately take form. However, humans live in Chronological time such that our words only take form in the process of sequential time not immediate time. If then we want positive things to happen to us and around us, we must speak only positive things about ourselves and our environment. Never use negative words even if it is only to describe things. Describe negative things positively. For instance, if your head aches, don’t say ‘I have a headache’, say instead ‘I will soon feel better’. That way, you have responded to negativity instead of reacting to it.

Come Boldly Not Fearfully

Come Boldly Not Fearfully

Revere God with an awesome respect but don’t be afraid of God. Don’t misunderstand Scriptures. Yeshu’a told us in Matthew 22:38 that the greatest commandment is to “Love the Lord your God”. We understand from 1st John 4:18 that “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear”. When the King James Version of The Bible was written the English people used fear and reverence interchangeably. So when the translators used fear they meant reverence. We know this because Scripture teaches that when you become born again God gives you a new spirit that is fed by His Holy Spirit and of that spirit, 2 Timothy 1:17 says “God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind”. Can you go boldly into the presence of one of whom you are afraid? But God expects us to “come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need”-Hebrews 4:16.

The Cycles of Favour

The Cycles of Favour

Beauty attracts favour, talents sustains it but character retains favour. Confidence will boosts it arrogance repels favour while pride destroys it. “Now the king was attracted to Esther more than to any of the other women, and she won his favor and approval more than any of the other virgins”-Esther 2:17 (beauty attracting favour). “But Mordecai found out about the plot and told Queen Esther, who in turn reported it to the king, giving credit to Mordecai”-Esther 2:22 (Esther sustained her favour with King Xerxes because she was tactful to give him the right information but she retained and increased the favour she had with Mordecai by refusing to take credit for the discovery. She had enough good character to give the credit to Mordecai.

Sweet or Bitter

Sweet or Bitter

I witnessed something interesting lately, I had asked someone to buy oranges from the market and he bought two baskets from different vendors. I was home when he brought them and I went out but when I returned, all the oranges in one basket were gone while the other basket was untouched except for one missing orange. I asked the people in my home why this was the case and they told me that the oranges in the basket that was empty was sweet while the other basket had sour oranges. And then it hit me. When you have a sweet attitude, you will attract many friends and well wishers and at the end of your life you would have emptied out what God put in you and be fulfilled. But when your attitude is sour or people will avoid you and at the end of your life you will still be full of all the things God put in you which were meant to be shared with others and you will be bitter. Those oranges had no choice on how they would taste, but you have a choice on what attitude you radiate. “Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?”-James 3:11.

Humility is not Timidity

RenoSo many people are cheating God out of His praise by refusing to let their talents shine. They have been taught false humility such that they feel they must value their talents less than it is. People tell them you are very beautiful and they say ‘no I am not’. People say they are very hardworking and they say ‘oh no, I really am not’. That is not humility. Humility is acknowledging your talents and character improvements but giving God the credit for it. How many times have you heard people say ‘thank God for that man’? If that man had hidden his talents, or character who would have said that? Yeshu’a put it best in Matthew 5:16 “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven”. Note the words “before others”. You are not meant to hide your light. That is not humility it is timidity!

Righteousness not Religion

RenoThe Bible says righteousness exalts a nation. The mistake Christians make is to think that religion exalts a nation. A nation may have a multiplicity of churches but if the citizens are getting more religious instead of more righteous they and their nation will not be exalted. This is why some African nations with a multiplicity of churches are do religious but Japan with a low crime rate is getting exalted. God loves all people whether Christian or not, but only those who act right will be exalted even if they may not make it to His Kingdom.

Use Things, Love People

How does God feel when He hears people say I love my car, I love this jeans, I love British Airways, I love this, I love that? Any sentence that has the word ‘love’ should always end with the word ‘God’ ‘me’ or ‘you’. Why? Because Jesus “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ And ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ We are to love ONLY God, ourselves and our neighbor (other human beings) Love people not things! The Biblical principle is to use things and love people.
