Never Submit Faith to Logic

Never Submit Faith to Logic

Sometimes you just feel led to do something, and you start to do it, then your carnal mind starts to feed you with logic and you begin to see and then your faith disappears and you begin to fall. Nothing cancels out faith like logic and the children of this world are so full of logic that they can reason you out of your faith. I remember when I worked at African International Bank. I got admission to a university in England and everybody told me I was a fool to consider leaving a bank job with a nice salary for the unknown of England, but I sensed a strong pull in my heart that God wanted me to leave. I defied everybody and went to England and within two years of my being in England the bank collapsed! Meanwhile, going to England set me on a trajectory that has led me to the privilege position God gave me in 2011. Logic has its place, but God did not call us to walk by logic. 2nd Corinthians 5:7 says ” we walk by faith, not by sight”. Faith is superior to logic. Never take what God has told you by faith and submit it to logic!

Everything Points to God

Everything Points to God

Everything on earth attests to the existence of God such that Romans 1:20 says “since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities–his eternal power and divine nature–have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse”. For example, it is readily accepted by people that Ebola which causes death can be passed to a nation by one man’s blood, yet intelligent people reject the idea that the blood of Yeshu’a (Jesus) can give life to the nations of the earth. It us also common practice to enter a secure website after clicking ‘I Agree’ yet people still doubt that they can enter God’s Kingdom merely by saying I agree to Yeshu’a. If you consider it logically, there is no other explanation for your dreams and Déjà vu than that a spirit exists on your body. And in my opinion, it takes more faith not to believe in God than it takes to believe in Him.

Sons of God

Sons of God

As a believer, have you ever had a strong feeling that you ought to do something that defies logic? If you have such a strong sense of doing the unreasonable and you confer with men, they will talk you out of it. Paul had such a strong feeling and his response was this “immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood”-Galatians 1:16. What you do at that instance determines whether you are a son of God or a babe. Romans 8:14 says “as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God”. We see a perfect corroboration of this in Luke 4:1 “and Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness”. Are you led by the Spirit or led by the flesh? “It is the spirit that gives life; the flesh profits nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life”-John 6:63. Many times, you know that God has spoken to you, but you have allowed reason and fleshly advice to interfere with what you know God has asked you to do forgetting that nothing cancels our faith like reasoning. From today, if God has spoken to you, “conferred not with flesh and blood” because “to obey is better than sacrifice”-1 Samuel 15:22. Be like Peter. His fleshly experience and the counsel of his fellow fishermen was that there was no fish in Lake of Gennesaret. But when Yeshu’a told him to cast his net he simply said “Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net”-Luke 5:5.

Unconditional Love!

Unconditional Love!

God loves us so we can be inspired by that love to go and do good things, however, He does not love us because we do good things. It is possible that our sins may separate us from God, but nothing, absolutely nothing can separate us from God’s love. “No power in the sky above or in the earth below–indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord”-Romans 8:39 (NLT).

Familiarize Yourself With the Word New

Familiarize Yourself With the Word New

If you make it to God’s Kingdom, you will have to unlearn some words from your vocabulary. Words like old are not used because “He that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new”. But even before you leave your body in death, as a follower of Christ the word old will begin to fade away from your vocabulary because “if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature”-2 Corinthians 5:17. So, familiarize yourself with that word new. It has special significance in this world and the next.

The Folly of Anger

The Folly of Anger

The reason they call it losing your temper is because when you do, you lose. You never gain. You can never defeat small minded people by responding to them in kind. The best way to view lowlands is by climbing to higher grounds. So don’t succumb to anger and speak evil words. Ecclesiastes 7:9 says “Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools”. Fools speak negatively about their nation then pray positively about themselves as if they can prosper in their home after cursing it with their mouth?

Don’t Steal God’s Vengeance

Don’t Steal God’s Vengeance

One curious thing about the life of David is that you never read where he took revenge on his enemies. God used David to destroy His (God’s) enemies but whether it be Saul, Shimei, or Nabal, David restrained himself against his own enemies. David knew that no one is as good at revenging as God, hence he said “Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me”-Psalm 35:1. David was no weakling, neither was he a coward, yet he restrained himself when he had Saul under his power, when Shimei was insulting him and when Nabal provoked him. Why? Because as he wrote in Psalm 75:7, “God is the judge”. Are you one of those who go about settling scores with people? Remember how upset your parents were when you hit your sibling even though your sibling hit you first? They always told you to report to them instead. Your parents’ ability to punish far exceeded yours and letting them handle the matter saved you from their wrath. But when you hit back they often forget about the offender and faced you. God is our ultimate Parent. Vengeance belongs to Him. Don’t steal it. “Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith The Lord”-Deuteronomy 32:35 and Romans 12:19.

Believe to See

Believe to See

Whenever challenges come in life, one thing you must to is never allow satan steal your peace and joy because when you do, you make Yeshu’a a liar when He said “peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”-John 14:27. When satan causes a storm in your life, he is trying to make you believe in the symptoms of that storm and when you do, it is at that point that the storm begins to overwhelm you. No matter what is happening to you, don’t take your bearing from what you see. Take your bearing from what you believe. “For we walk by faith, not by sight”-2 Corinthians 5:7. Seeing is not believing. Your eyes can deceive you. Yeshu’a put it best when He said “did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”-John 11:40.

Not Just Christians But Christ Ins

Not Just Christians But Christ Ins

In Samaria, there was a sorcerer named Simon. When the disciples came into town to preach, he saw their miracles and was in awe and Scripture recorded that “Simon himself believed and was baptized. And he followed Philip everywhere, astonished by the great signs and miracles he saw”-Acts 8:13. In other words Simon became a Christian. Not long after, Simon saw the disciples imparting power on others by the laying on of hands. “When Simon saw that the Spirit was given at the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money and said, “Give me also this ability so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit”-Acts 8:18-19. By this act, it was clear that Christ was not in Simon. Like Simon, many people become Christians not for love of God, but because they have problems or they have seen wonders and miracles and are in awe and Christianity becomes for them a means to acquire miracles and financial breakthroughs instead of a way of life that leads to the death of the self and growth of the spirit. Hence The Bible warns of “people of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain”-1 Timothy 6:5. Christ Himself defined the type of relationship He wants to have with us when He said “I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in”-Revelations 3:20. We call ourselves Christian because we are in Christ but the question is not whether we are in Christ. Rather it is whether Christ is in us. “Christ in you, the hope of glory”-Colossians 1:27. God wants Christ ins not just Christians.

Believe Until Something Happens

Believe Until Something Happens

Be careful what you say when the answers to your prayers appears delayed. The only reason God immediately sends an angel to answer the prayer of His children is because they have faith. The only reason satan sends his demons to resist the angel sent is to create doubt in you. What you say or think during this time of resistance determines if the angel fights its way through demonic beings to get to you or if the angel returns to God with the answers to your prayers. If you don’t believe me, consider what the angel said to Daniel. “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia”-Daniel 10:12-13. Michael only came to help the angel because Daniel continued to believe. But if Daniel had complained during the wait, Michael would not have come. As it is with Daniel, so it is with you because “God is no respecter of persons”-Acts 10:34.
