One Thing is Needful

One Thing is Needful

To all those people who are very busy making progress in life and who hurry and scurry about as soon as they wake up. To those whose smartphones are always beeping and calling their attention to urgent messages and important schedules. To those who maintain 80 hour work week and who manage portfolios that never sleep. Jesus has a message for you thus “Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed–or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”-Matthew 10:40-42.

Catch The Vision and Not Division

Catch The Vision and Not Division

If you don’t catch The Vision that God planned for you, satan will give you Division as his plan for you. So begin today to “write the vision, and make it plain”-Habakkuk 2:2. Don’t think you can keep it in your head. You will forget it. Don’t think you can confide it to a friend without writing it first. He will implement it as his idea, after all God is also his Father. Write down your ideas. Make them tangible. What is keeping you from the success you so desire is not lack of money or talent. It is lack of vision. Money follows vision, not vice versa. That is why you have venture capitalists looking for visionaries to fund. “Where there is no vision, the people perish”-Proverbs 29:18.

Let Another Testify of You

Let Another Testify of You

One of the principle Jesus taught us is that bragging about your accomplishments devalues them. If you want people to value your achievements, let them discover it from another source. Jesus said “if I testify about Myself, My testimony is not valid. “There is another who testifies of Me”-John 5:31-32. Jesus did not brag about His accomplishments. He relied on The Holy Spirit to testify about Him. King Solomon corroborated Jesus when he said “Let someone else praise you, and not your own mouth; an outsider, and not your own lips”-Proverbs 27:2.

Reprioritize Your Life

Reprioritize Your Life

Imagine hating on people you meet everyday on Social Media and real life because of politicians you may never meet! Reprioritize your life! “whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen”-1 John 4:20.

Make Money, Don’t Let Money Make You

Make Money, Don’t Let Money Make You

When people make money and act superior to those with less money, they show that they haven’t made money. Instead, money has made them! If you have truly made money, you will make it obey you and it will be your slave. It will not have the power to change your character. If money makes you rude to people then money has rule over you. But if money makes you true to yourself and others then you have rule over money. “Those who trust in their riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf”-Proverbs 11:28.

Possess But Don’t be Possessed.

Possess But Don’t be Possessed.

Material things are called possessions because many folk think they possess their possession when in actuality the possessions possess them. A man buys a new car and becomes very possessive over the car. His wife is not permitted to drive it, neither can his children because its an expensive Mercedes. He takes care of the car like an egg and is extremely careful with it in traffic. And then you ask, does he own the car or does the car own him? Whatever you cannot release has a hold on you and what has a hold on you possesses you. Material things have their purpose, however, consider that Jesus never had a house or a horse or donkey or lots of clothes. Yet He had such mastery over material things that when He needed them they manifested in His life, like the donkey He rode into Jerusalem, or the gold coin in the mouth of the fish for paying His taxes or the water that turned to wine. Put material things in their place. Possess them but never permit them to possess you. It is not money that is the root of all evil, it is “the love of money is the root of all evil”-1 Timothy 6:10.

Get The Jesus Habit

Get The Jesus Habit

You spend a full week without turning off your mobile phone, in the same period you don’t open your Bible, yet you wonder why you are weak? Mark 1:35 says “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” If Mark wrote about you and I would he have written that or would he says ‘Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, (put your name here) got up, and checked his Twitter and Facebook profile”? Jesus is The Word of God. He is also the Son of God. Yet this sinless and perfect man read The Scriptures and prayed to God daily. How then can you, an imperfect man, who was conceived in sin survive and thrive if you don’t connect to God daily through Bible reading and prayer?

Don’t Outsmart People, Outlove Them

Don’t Outsmart People, Outlove Them

In life, there are always going to be people who don’t play fair and who try to outsmart you. Do not try to outsmart them back. There is a better way. Outkind them. Outgive them. Outlove them. Outtolerate them. Outforgive them. Resist the urge to conform and be like them. “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good”-Romans 12:21.

Live Like Jesus.

Live Like Jesus.

Think about all you did today and divide them into a.High Value, b.Low Value and c. No Value. Then tomorrow, do more of A, little of B and none of C. That is how Jesus lived His life on earth. In category a, He had preaching, teaching and healing-“Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness”-Matthew 4:23. In category b. Jesus put repeating a lesson He had already taught. He did not want to keep repeating the same thing over and over again “Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me”-Matthew 17:17. In category c. He put sinning. Although Jesus forgave peoples sins, He did not want them repeating it “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,”Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin”-John 8:11.
