Affirmation Increases Productivity

Learn to differentiate people from what they do. You can hate what they do. Even God hates what we sometimes do. But never hate the person. If you must criticize at all, criticize what people do, never the people themselves. Then praise people directly, don’t just praise what they do. Consider Jesus. The Bible records little about His earthly ministry until after His Baptism by John The Baptist. As soon as He came out of the water, His Father spoke from heaven saying “this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased”-Matthew 3:17. From that moment, The Bible records that “Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people”-Matthew 4:23. When you praise and affirm people, you empower them to do things that explodes their sphere of influence and increases their productivity. Whether as a parent, a boss, or a pastor, the most sensible thing you can do to increase the effectiveness of people around you is to affirm them.
